The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada announced that the town of Arlington has received the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its fiscal year 2019 comprehensive annual financial report. The certificate gives recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents accomplishment by a government and its management. An Award of Financial Reporting Achievement was presented to Arlington Comptroller Ida Cody for preparing the award-winning fiscal 2019 comprehensive annual financial report.
“The CAFR continues to be an excellent report in communicating to elected town officials and residents on the town’s financial condition,” said Arlington Town Manager Adam Chapdelaine. “Ms. Cody and her team continue to do extraordinary work in distilling complex financial information to make it accessible to all interested parties.”
The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a construction spirit of full disclosure to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
