A Place in the Sun presenter Danni Menzies failed to impress one couple as they searched for their dream holiday home.

During Monday’s installment, the property expert was hoping to find retired couple Chris and Marie their perfect property in Manilva on Spain’s Costa del Sol.

It was a tough challenge for Danni to begin with as the couple admitted that they both wanted completely different things from their home.

With a budget of £125,000, Chris wanted a property near a golf resort while Marie wanted to live closer to town and the beach.

They instantly hit a hurdle at the first property, after the couple was unimpressed by the size of the apartment.

‘This is your living room come dining area,’ Danni explained.

‘Style is lovely, seems a bit small,’ Marie began.

Chris continued: ‘There’s not a lot in it but it a bit too narrow, I think if we get our furniture in, it will make it smaller.’

‘You did say I would be able to tell and I can tell you’re not excited,’ Danni added.

Marie replied: ‘Not with the size of the room no, love the view, the view is spectacular.’

Although not even the view could save Danni, so she swiftly moved on to the next property.

In the end, the couple ended up falling in love with three other properties in the area.

But, it was the two-bed apartment in La Chullera that they had their heart set on.

Chris and Marie loved it so much they decided to put an offer of £115,000 on it – and it got accepted.

The couple were so overwhelmed that Chris even shed a few tears.

‘I’m b****y crying,’ he told the host.

Marie continued: ‘He’s crying, isn’t it lovely. What’s getting you emotional?’

‘Just seeing you so happy,’ Chris added.
